What is Butter?

Butter is a weekly cooking club where thousands of home cooks make the same community-submitted recipe together.

Every Friday, a new recipe is chosen from the community and shared with everyone. Throughout the week, members cook it in their own kitchens, share photos, swap tips, compare results, and see how the same recipe turns out in different hands.

Anyone with a free account can submit recipes passed down through their families. Paying members also submit invention briefs. Over time, that shared archive becomes a cookbook made across the world, complete with a feed of every member's interpretation.

How it works

  1. Friday: A new community recipe is published.
  2. During the week: Cook the recipe whenever it suits you, then upload your version, notes, and any changes you made.
  3. Cook together: Browse everyone else's creations, learn from their ideas, and share your own.
