What Butter is

Butter is a weekly cooking club where members cook a shared recipe, share their versions, and take part in invention challenges.

Membership and payments

Full access to the recipe archive, invention challenges and some sharing features requires a paid membership, billed monthly or yearly and renewing automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel your membership from your account page at any time, and access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. See our refund policy for our 30-day money-back guarantee.

Our intellectual property

AMK Capital owns Butter and everything in it apart from member content — the software, the written recipes and photography we publish, the name and the branding. You get a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Butter under your chosen plan. Please don’t copy, resell, redistribute, reverse engineer or scrape any of it.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and recipes you post. By posting, you give Butter permission to display them within the app to other members. We may remove content that is offensive, unsafe or breaches these terms.

Acceptable use

You may use Butter only for lawful, personal cooking-club purposes. Full rules are in our Acceptable use policy. In summary, you must not post harmful, dangerous, abusive or illegal content; impersonate others; attempt to access accounts or systems without permission; use bots or scrapers; upload malware; or commercially exploit Butter without our permission. We may remove content, suspend features or terminate accounts that break these rules or pose a legal, security or reputational risk.

Account termination

We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms, non-payment, fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious rule-breaking. You can close your account at any time from your account page.

Limitations

Butter is provided as-is and we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
